For this week’s ROM of the week, check out Renovate Jelly Bean ROM for your HTC One X!

Based on latest official Jelly Bean update, the Renovate ROM brings you the power of optimizations including performance, battery, and RAM tweaks.

As soon as you install this ROM, you will definitely feel a higher level of performance, especially when switching between apps as the ROM has also been optimized for faster multi-tasking.

Renovate ROM also comes with an AROMA installer, you have choice of the stock theme, red or blue theme. Personally, I do feel the red theme is pretty awesome (as shown in video) as many other things are themed including the keyboard.

This is a pretty simple ROM but as they say, “it’s what’s inside that counts.” That is what this ROM is about, better performance and battery life while keeping things simple.

So, try it out for this weekend and do let me know what you think!

For installation, make sure you are on HBOOT 1.31 or higher, if not, see How to Upgrade to Jelly Bean HBOOT 1.39 first!!!

I need to upgrade my CID which is VODAP001, so i guess I can’t upgrade. I tried using HTC_001 and option 7 for compatible CIDs but I get an error ..remote: 42 custom id check fail>

Do you know when my CID will be available.. really want this rom.

love this site, always gets me high …on android.

    Hi Max!

I tried to flash Renovate Jelly but I got into a problem. Apparently, I don’t have enough battery to do it.
In any case, I was able to put enough bat into it.

When I tried to do the Jellybean Update to 1.39, it already came through. I was also able to follow all your instructions. But then, I factory reset using fastboot usb mode. So now all my files in my phone are gone.

Now I’m stuck in HTC Screen. I can’t come through. I can’t even put the zip file into the phone because i can’t mount it as usb.

    Please help me.

you have to be on a certain type of hotboot, well thats what is says. HTC is very dodgy when flashing roms sadly i bootlooped mine a few days ago but managed to fix it

Will this ROM work on HTC One X At&T version?

  5. Alexander O. says:

    1. This was my CID – HTC__02. Theoretically there was no chance to upgrade from 0.95 to 1.39 but I tried with HTC__01 and it went OK. Now I’m firmly on 1.39.
    2. Now I’m facing another problem. After having installed the Renovate ROM and having realised that this is a regular 4.1.1 one I changed my mind and decided to go back to CM-10 since the phone equipped with the Renovate Rom does not appear as drive on my PC. But then I could not go from recovery into clockworkmod and I still CAN NOT. It’s driving me mad. Can anybody help, please.
    3. @Jun Galvez – if you can switch into the clockworkmod “somewhere down there” is an option to attach your phone as a drive to your PC. Look for it and you will find it. I can’t tell you right now how it goes since I can’t see my clockworkmod as I mentioned it above. Probably all your files will be gone after the installation of the Renovate ROM (mine were also gone) but you still have the possibility to mount another ROM onto your SD card.
    4. @Jun Galvez – make there, on the SD card, a folder and put the ROM-zip, the gapps-zip and the boot.img form the ROM you want to install. For this purpose extract on your PC the ROM-zip and take from there the boot.img and put it into the newly created folder. MAX has a good universal description how to install the boot image. Any of his explanations would do. I wish you success. And don’t forget to write! (here)

  6. Alexander O. says:

@Jun Galvez – in ClockworkMod Recovery you go to “mounts and storage” then you select “mount USB storage” and your Smartphone appears as drive on your PC. Then proceed as described above.

  7. Giedrius says:

I have the same issue as Jun, after HBOOT update internal storage was formatted. Maybe somebody had this also and was able to restore most of the lost data?

    • Thomas says:

  8. Reginald says:

I have a problem!!! after upgrading my firmware for this rom, I’m having trubble installing rom.
In clockworkrecovery i choose install zip from sd card and i get reply “E\ con’t mount sd card”.

    • Armenoid says:

Reginald, I’m not a pro, but will try to help
Install latest version of ClockworkMod Recovery .
then you go to recovery–>mounts and storage–>mount USB storage and your HOX appears as drive on your PC and I think you will be able to flash your zip file.

  9. Armenoid says:

    • james says:

you say its “relocked”, if so you have to unlock again if you want to flash another custom rom. if you still have your “unlock_code.bin” should be really easy. oh and did you upgrade your HBOOT?

  11. james says:

could not get it working on my one x international. could only get as far as optimizing apps then it would freeze. must be just my phone. but got CM10 working beautifully on it.

  12. antreasy says:

it shows only a logo and it does not open in the main menu i’m really desperate as i cant use my phone
